The Krewe of Elaines was created in honor of the late Elaine James, a resilient and visionary woman whose dedication, strength, and love for people laid the foundation for something truly special. Through hard work, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to her community, Elaine built a beloved business in the Quarters that has proudly served for over 20 years. More than a place of business, her establishment became a trusted gathering space where good food, music, laughter, and genuine camaraderie came together in a safe and welcoming environment. Elaine’s legacy was rooted in love — love for community, for connection, and for creating spaces where everyone felt seen and valued. That same spirit lives on through the Krewe of Elaines Mardi Gras and Social Club, established to honor her life and legacy by bringing people together through tradition, celebration, unity, and meaningful connection.

Each year, our Annual Mardi Gras Ball brings together members, supporters, and guests for an elegant evening of music, tradition, and Gulf Coast Mardi Gras spirit.
